Before and after Wye River and Separation Creek

On Christmas Day, the suburbs of Wye River and Separation Creek were hit by severe bushfires, which devastated the community, ruining homes, bushland and wildlife.

116 houses were destroyed in the fire, and the damage is expected to cost the town about $25 million.

However, residents are only now beginning to re-enter the area, and will assess the true extent of the damage left behind from the Christmas bushfires.
